I am Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Tulsa, and the author of Political Advocacy and Its Interested Citizens. My research and teaching interests include interest groups, governance in higher education, inequality, and American political development, among other topics. My personal interests include my pets Walter (cat, at left below) and Gertie (dog, not shown), travel, puns, cooking, updating my website once every five years, good drinks, good food, and, occasionally, bad food.

I currently serve as president of my institution’s chapter of the AAUP.
